Role Overview
The Faculty – Acting will be responsible for delivering practice-led training in performance for screen, preparing students for careers in cinema, OTT, and emerging media. The role requires a strong balance of craft, pedagogy, and industry relevance, with an emphasis on on-set readiness and collaborative filmmaking.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver courses in acting for screen, including body, voice, improvisation, character development, and performance techniques
- Train students in camera acting, continuity, blocking, and working with directors and crew
- Conduct workshops, rehearsals, and performance labs aligned with production exercises and projects
- Integrate theory with hands-on practice through scene work, short films, and graduation projects
Curriculum & Academic Contribution
- Contribute to curriculum design, lesson planning, and continuous refinement of acting pedagogy
- Align teaching with semester-wise projects (dialogue exercises, documentary performance, long take, episodic content, graduation film)
- Participate in assessment, grading, and feedback as part of the holistic evaluation system
Student Mentorship
- Mentor students on performance skills, auditions, showreels, and career pathways
- Support students during productions, ensuring professional conduct and performance quality
- Guide students in portfolio development and industry readiness
Industry Integration
- Bring current industry practices into the classroom
- Facilitate guest sessions, workshops, and collaborations with industry professionals
- Support casting, audition processes, and exposure opportunities for students
Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in academic planning, faculty meetings, and institutional initiatives
- Contribute to events, masterclasses, and outreach programs
- Uphold campus and production etiquettes, ensuring discipline and professionalism
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Acting, Theatre, Film, or related field (formal training preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional acting experience in film, television, theatre, or OTT
- Prior teaching/training experience preferred
- Strong understanding of screen acting techniques and filmmaking processes
Key Skills
- Expertise in acting techniques (method, improvisation, voice, movement)
- Strong communication and mentoring ability
- Understanding of camera, editing, and on-set workflows
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments (direction, cinematography, sound, etc.)
Preferred Profile
- Active industry practitioner with recent work credits
- Experience in training actors for screen (not just theatre)
- Exposure to auditions, casting processes, and showreel preparation
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹9,818.32 - ₹53,771.23 per month
