To assist in the efficient and accurate processing of laboratory samples and diagnostic tests while maintaining patient safety, quality standards, infection control practices, and laboratory protocols.
- Collect, receive, identify, label, and process blood, urine, stool, and other clinical specimens as per SOPs.
- Perform routine laboratory tests under appropriate supervision and according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment and instruments as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare reagents, stains, slides, and other materials required for laboratory investigations.
- Ensure proper sample handling, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, quality control activities, and laboratory documentation.
- Follow NABH/NABL requirements, laboratory SOPs, biomedical waste management, and infection control protocols.
- Perform daily equipment checks and report equipment malfunction or abnormal observations to the senior technician.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within the laboratory.
- Assist senior technicians and laboratory supervisors during routine and emergency investigations.
- Ensure proper stock levels of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies and report shortages.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory reports.
- Participate in internal quality control, calibration, and proficiency testing activities as assigned.
- Demonstrate punctuality, discipline, teamwork, and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques.
