Summary:
As a Team Lead in Agent-Based Simulation Engineering, you will own model development workstreams, guide junior engineers, and support solution design for client engagements. You will translate business and operational requirements into robust ABS and hybrid simulation models, contribute to technical delivery planning, and ensure quality through validation, calibration, documentation, and peer reviews. This role bridges hands-on engineering execution with team coordination, client interaction, and reusable capability development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead small-to-medium Agent-Based Simulation workstreams within client engagements.
- Develop ABS and hybrid simulation models representing autonomous entities, decision rules, interactions, and operational processes.
- Translate process flows and client requirements into simulation architecture, agent logic, model assumptions, and output KPIs.
- Configure experiments, scenario logic, sensitivity analysis, and simulation result interpretation.
- Perform model verification, validation, calibration, technical reviews, and documentation quality checks.
- Support requirement workshops, data validation discussions, demos, and technical walkthroughs.
- Coordinate daily engineering actions, track progress, and support issue resolution for junior team members.
- Develop reusable simulation components, modelling templates, and delivery accelerators.
- Collaborate with data, AI, analytics, and Digital Twin teams for enterprise data integration.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must Have Skills -
- 4-7 years of simulation engineering experience.
- Strong Agent-Based Simulation modelling fundamentals.
- Hands-on exposure to AnyLogic, Mesa, GAMA, NetLogo, or equivalent ABS platforms.
- Python and/or Java programming with object-oriented design.
- Hybrid simulation concepts covering ABS, DES, and System Dynamics.
- Model verification, validation, calibration, and scenario experimentation.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews.
- Agile delivery experience and strong technical documentation skills.
Good to Have skills:
- Discrete Event Simulation and Digital Twin concepts.
- Optimization and Operations Research fundamentals.
- Machine Learning / AI integration awareness.
- PTV Vissim / Viswalk, Repast Suite, MATSim, SUMO, or mobility simulation exposure.
- Azure/AWS and DevOps basics.
- Client-facing consulting and workshop participation experience.
Tooling / Platform Exposure:
- Simulation Tools: AnyLogic, PTV Vissim / PTV Viswalk, Repast Suite, NetLogo, Mesa Python, GAMA Platform, MATSim, SUMO, Simio, FlexSim, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation.
- Data Analysis Tools: Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, SimPy, Matplotlib), R, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, scikit-learn for data preparation, experimentation, validation, and reporting.
- Digital Twin / Integration Tools: Azure/AWS, DevOps, Git, CI/CD, APIs, enterprise data connectors, IoT/real-time data streams, 3D visualization and dashboard integration.
- Domain / Operations Systems: Manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, mobility, supply chain, ERP/WMS/MES context SAP EWM, Manhattan Associates, Oracle WMS exposure is preferred where relevant.
- Automation Technologies: AGVs/AMRs, AS/RS, conveyors, material handling systems, mobile robots, IoT sensors, traffic/pedestrian movement systems.
Additional Info:
- Bachelor s or master s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related field.
- Good to have: certifications in AnyLogic, Python, cloud, Digital Twin, traffic/mobility simulation, or data analytics.
- This position is based at Bangalore or Pune.
- Candidate should have minimum 5+ years of role-relevant simulation engineering experience.
