Job Summary
Responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Continental dishes in accordance with standard recipes and hygiene practices. Ensures smooth kitchen operations, maintains quality standards, and supports senior chefs in achieving guest satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes as per standard recipes.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Assist in mise en place and daily kitchen preparation.
- Handle a specific section (for CDP/DCDP) independently.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
- Follow kitchen SOPs and ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Coordinate with other sections for smooth service operations.
- Monitor stock levels and inform seniors about shortages.
Quality Control
- Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Minimize wastage and control food cost.
Hygiene & Safety
- Follow food safety standards (HACCP).
- Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards.
- Ensure proper storage of food items (FIFO method).
Team Support
- Assist junior staff and trainees.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams.
- Take instructions from senior chefs and execute efficiently.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts (Mandatory)
- Relevant experience:
- DCDP: 4+ years
- Commis I- 4+years
