Our focus includes educational toys, interactive books, activity products, and other innovative learning tools for kids.
We are looking for a creative and child-focused Product Designer to help us develop exciting kids products that are educational, safe, visually appealing, and market-ready.
Role Overview
As a Product Designer at Kooki Kids, you will be responsible for designing kids products such as educational toys, interactive books, activity-based learning products, and related items. You should understand how to combine creativity, child development principles, functionality, and user-friendly design to create products that both children and parents love.
Key Responsibilities
- Design innovative kids products, including educational toys, interactive books, flashcards, activity kits, and learning materials.
- Develop product concepts from idea to prototype and final design.
- Create sketches, mockups, design specifications, and product presentations.
- Research market trends, competitor products, and customer preferences in the kids and education space.
- Ensure product designs are age-appropriate, engaging, safe, and easy to use.
- Work closely with the founders, illustrators, content creators, and manufacturers to bring product ideas to life.
- Improve existing products based on customer feedback and market needs.
- Support packaging ideas, visual presentation, and overall product experience.
Requirements
- Experience in product design, toy design, industrial design, or related creative fields.
- Strong portfolio showing product design work, preferably for kids products, toys, books, learning tools, or consumer products.
- Good understanding of child-friendly design, educational value, and safety considerations.
- Ability to turn ideas into practical, manufacturable product concepts.
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing educational toys, children’s books, activity kits, or Montessori-inspired products.
- Knowledge of materials, production methods, and packaging design.
- Understanding of child learning behavior, early education, or kids consumer trends.
- Experience working with ecommerce or D2C brands is a plus.
