We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Safety & Maintenance Engineer to lead factory maintenance operations and ensure implementation of workplace safety standards across manufacturing activities at our Pune Factory.
Role Summary
The Senior Safety & Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for leading preventive and breakdown maintenance activities, improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring strict adherence to industrial safety standards within the Pune factory premises. The candidate should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, team handling capabilities, and practical exposure to industrial maintenance and EHS practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Responsibilities
- Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery and equipment.
- Ensure smooth functioning of machinery, utilities, and factory equipment to support uninterrupted production operations.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults efficiently.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, SOPs, and maintenance strategies to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.
- Monitor machine performance, analyze recurring issues, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Supervise installation, servicing, testing, commissioning, and validation of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain maintenance reports, logs, inspection records, and equipment history documentation as per company standards.
- Plan and monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement activities to avoid maintenance delays.
- Handle vendor management, AMC coordination, and service provider activities.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement CAPA measures.
- Train and guide technicians, operators, and junior engineers on maintenance practices and machine handling.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance KPIs, machine uptime targets, and operational efficiency standards.
Safety Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor workplace safety policies, procedures, and EHS standards across Pune factory operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, hazard identification, and risk assessment activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with PPE usage and workplace safety regulations.
- Lead fire safety inspections, emergency response planning, mock drills, and evacuation procedures.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain safety records, audit reports, incident reports, statutory compliance documentation, and CAPA reports.
- Conduct safety awareness programs, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with industrial safety laws, statutory regulations, and company safety standards.
- Promote safe work culture and continuous improvement initiatives within the factory environment.
- Coordinate with government authorities, auditors, and external agencies during inspections and compliance audits whenever required.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and safety practices.
- Hands-on experience in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards, EHS regulations, PPE compliance, and emergency response systems.
- Ability to lead maintenance teams and manage factory maintenance operations independently.
- Good analytical, planning, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, maintenance documentation, and reporting systems.
- Ability to work effectively in manufacturing and factory environments.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- Certification in Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety / EHS will be preferred.

Candidate Profile:

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
