About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Executive – Accounts & Administration to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong experience in accounts payable, statutory compliance, taxation, financial reporting and SAP S/4HANA. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial operations, regulatory compliance and effective stakeholder management across the business. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will work closely with internal teams, external service providers, auditors and banking partners to ensure financial processes operate efficiently and in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), taxation regulations and company policies. This role offers strong exposure in a growing international pharmaceutical organisation and opportunities to contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and wider finance projects.
Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day accounting operations in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), company policies and internal controls.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, approvals and payment execution.
- Reviewing vendor invoices to ensure appropriate TDS deductions are applied in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Managing vendor payment cycles, preparing payment proposals and ensuring payments are processed within agreed contractual terms.
- Uploading and processing vendor payments through online banking platforms while ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely execution.
- Monitoring critical supplier accounts and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements, including TDS, GST, Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), Input Service Distributor (ISD) and other applicable tax regulations.
- Coordinating with external consultants and service providers to ensure timely filing and payment of statutory obligations.
- Raising GST-compliant invoices, intercompany invoices, transfer pricing invoices and e-invoices through relevant regulatory portals.
- Preparing monthly GST RCM self-invoices, ISD invoices and quarterly cross-charge invoices.
- Managing month-end and year-end close activities within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely completion of all close activities.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy.
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements in accordance with statutory and internal reporting requirements.
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors during statutory audits, tax audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
- MBA (Finance), B.Com, M.Com or equivalent finance/accounting qualification.
- Additional professional accounting qualifications would be advantageous.
Required Skills
- 5–7 years of progressive experience within accounting, finance, operations or shared services environments.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Extensive experience managing accounts payable processes and vendor payment operations.
- Strong understanding of Indian taxation requirements, including TDS, GST, RCM, ISD and related compliance obligations.
- Experience preparing financial reconciliations, month-end close activities and statutory reporting.
- Proven experience managing statutory compliance activities and coordinating with external advisors and auditors.
- Hands-on experience using SAP S/4HANA within a finance or accounting environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret financial information and identify discrepancies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functions and levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables and proactively drive issues through to resolution.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to streamline processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within a multinational organisation or pharmaceutical/life sciences environment.
- Exposure to finance transformation, process improvement or ERP implementation projects.
- Experience working with intercompany accounting and transfer pricing processes.
- Knowledge of shared service centre operations and best practice financial controls.
