Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, budgeting, tender analysis, billing, contract administration, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The candidate will work closely with project managers, site engineers, architects, contractors, and procurement teams to ensure projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Cost Planning
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Estimate material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Assist in project budgeting and cost planning.
Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare tender documents and analyse quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Compare vendor quotations and recommend cost-effective procurement options.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for material planning and purchasing.
Billing & Contract Management
- Prepare client bills and contractor/subcontractor bills.
- Verify measurements and certify work completed.
- Monitor project costs and prepare cost variance reports.
- Maintain proper documentation related to contracts, work orders, and change orders.
- Evaluate and process variation orders and additional work claims.
Project Cost Control
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Track material consumption and wastage.
- Conduct site measurements and verify executed quantities.
- Support project managers in cost optimization initiatives.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project cost reports.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, site engineers, and project managers.
- Maintain project records, BOQs, estimates, and billing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and internship experience may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs, estimation, and BOQ preparation.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costing.
- Experience in client billing and subcontractor billing.
- Good understanding of contracts and project documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
