Role & Responsibilities
Design and interpret wiring layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), panel layouts, and electrical
schematics for industrial and commercial systems.
- Select cables based on load, voltage drop, insulation type, and application; plan cable routing
and manage procurement of electrical materials.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, and Indian Electricity (IE) rules, including grounding systems,
earthling requirements, and PPE usage.
- Handle single-phase and three-phase power distribution, neutral/earthling design, and load
balancing.
- Oversee conduit routing, panel assembly, termination, and power/control wiring during
installation.
- Prepare BOQ and load distribution charts.
- Manage UPS systems, DG synchronization, inverter systems, and backup power configuration.
- Lead site supervision, installation monitoring, and inspection, testing, and commissioning
activities.
- Program, troubleshoot, and commission PLC-based industrial automation systems (Delta PLC
preferred; Allen-Bradley/Siemens exposure an advantage).
- Develop HMI interfaces, machine sequence logic, alarms, and interlocks.
- Configure and commission VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems.
- Integrate industrial devices — barcode scanners, weighing scales, vision cameras, printers, RFID
systems, sensors — with PLC-based systems.
- Work with industrial communication protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP-IP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, RS
232/RS-485.
- Design control panels and prepare GA drawings, terminal layouts, and wiring diagrams using
AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
- Select components: PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, SMPS, safety relays, contactors, MCBs,
MCCBs, sensors, and control accessories.
- Prepare BOM, cable schedules, I/O lists, and terminal plans for automation projects.
- Conduct I/O validation, loop checking, functional testing, and customer acceptance activities.
- Support encoder-based positioning, conveyor automation, sorting systems, and material
handling equipment integration.
- Manage industrial networking basics — Ethernet switches, IP addressing, network diagnostics,
and remote machine support.
- Maintain as-built drawings, testing reports, commissioning checklists, O&M manuals, and
material tracking records.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design, Software Development, Production, Purchase, Quality, and
Service teams through project execution.
- Analyze machine/electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive R&D initiatives — new automation solutions, machine enhancements, and POC projects —
from concept to deployment.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical/automation engineers across projects.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for execution and quality compliance.
- Take ownership of project timelines, technical decision-making, and customer-facing
communication during commissioning.
Requirements
- Good in communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for electrical, control, and automation systems.
- Proven ability to lead site execution and mentor a team of electrical/automation engineers
