Senior Site Engineer (Civil)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Engineer (Civil) to lead and supervise civil construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams while maintaining compliance with all statutory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, and subcontractors.
- Review engineering drawings and resolve technical issues during construction.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Plan and manage manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities for efficient project execution.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with QA/QC procedures.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Verify work measurements, contractor bills, and material reconciliation.
- Monitor material usage and implement measures to reduce wastage.
- Ensure timely completion of project milestones while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, and provide technical updates.
- Identify construction risks, delays, and technical challenges, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain site documentation, including inspection reports, material records, and progress reports.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, supervisors, and site staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech Civil).
- 8–12 years of experience in civil construction projects such as residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure developments.
- Strong knowledge of RCC, structural works, finishing works, earthworks, and construction methodologies.
- Familiarity with IS codes, National Building Code (NBC), and relevant construction standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and other project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
