Role: Test Leader - ADAS
The ADAS Test Leader is responsible for planning, executing, and managing validation & verification activities for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and features. The role ensures that functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Sensor Fusion systems meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
The position includes test planning, team coordination, issue management, KPI tracking, and alignment with system, software, and hardware engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Strategy
- Develop complete ADAS test strategies for feature-level and system-level validation.
- Define test plans, test cases, KPIs, acceptance criteria, and traceability to requirements (DOORS, Polarion, etc.).
- Identify required test environments (HIL, SIL, Vehicle, Proving Ground, Simulation).
2. Execution & Leadership
- Lead and coordinate a team of ADAS test engineers, drivers, and technicians.
- Oversee day-to-day test execution for real-world driving, proving ground tests, and simulation-based validation.
- Ensure test readiness: vehicles, instrumentation, software builds, calibration files, test equipment.
3. Technical Responsibilities
- Validate ADAS functions: ACC, LCA, AEB, ISA, BSD, Traffic Jam Assist, Highway Assist, etc.
- Manage sensor testing for cameras, radar and fusion modules.
- Analyse test logs using tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, ADTF, MATLAB, CarSim, IPG Carmaker.
- Ensure compliance with standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448 SOTIF, NCAP protocols).
4. Issue Tracking & Reporting
- Identify defects and raise issues in Jira or equivalent systems.
- Drive root-cause analysis with system, software, and algorithm teams.
- Prepare test reports, dashboards, KPIs, and present results to stakeholders.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with system engineers, ADAS algorithm teams, hardware engineers, software developers, and functional safety teams.
- Support homologation and certification tests (e.g., Euro NCAP, NHTSA).
- Coordinate with external partners, proving grounds, and suppliers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical/Electronics, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related.
- 12+ years experience in system testing/validation of embedded ECUs (automotive/industrial).
- Strong understanding of ADAS systems
- ECU testing lifecycle, test design techniques, and defect management
- Hands-on experience with at least one:
- HIL platforms (dSPACE, NI, Vector, etc.)
- Bench testing with inverter + motor setups and measurement equipment
- Comfortable with automotive networks & tools:
- CAN/LIN/Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, CANoe/CANalyzer (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple integration tasks across vehicle programs.
