LIVE-IN DRIVER & CARETAKER Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable, responsible and proactive Live-in Driver & Caretaker to manage the family's transportation needs and help keep the home, vehicles and day-to-day household logistics running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is trustworthy, alert, practical and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to anticipate what needs to be done.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation
- Safely drive the family for school, work, appointments, activities and personal travel.
- Pick up and drop off children and family members as required.
- Maintain punctuality and plan routes efficiently.
- Keep vehicles clean, fuelled and in good working condition.
- Coordinate servicing, repairs, insurance, pollution checks and other vehicle requirements.
- Handle errands, deliveries, collections and other driving-related tasks.
House & Property Care
- Monitor the general condition of the property and immediately flag repairs or maintenance issues.
- Check water supply, pumps, electrical systems, gates, lights and other basic household infrastructure.
- Monitor for water stagnation, leaks, pests and other issues requiring attention.
- Ensure garbage and recyclable waste are properly managed.
- Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, mechanics, gardeners, technicians and other service providers when required.
Security & Safety
- Maintain awareness of people entering and leaving the property.
- Ensure gates, vehicles and external areas are secure.
- Report anything unusual or concerning immediately.
- Assist with basic emergency situations and household safety procedures.
Household Support
- Assist the family with practical errands and logistics.
- Receive and organise deliveries and household supplies.
- Help with moving, loading and unloading items when required.
- Support other household staff when necessary to ensure the home runs smoothly.
Ideal Candidate
- Valid driving licence and strong driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Safe, defensive and responsible driver.
- Physically fit and comfortable with practical household tasks.
- Basic understanding of vehicle and property maintenance.
- Honest, discreet and trustworthy.
- Punctual, organised and proactive.
- Able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Good communication skills and a respectful attitude towards the family and other staff.
- Willing to live close to the family.
- Prior experience working for a family in a similar role preferred.
The Goal
The Driver & Caretaker should ensure that the family gets where they need to go safely and on time, while the home, vehicles and everyday logistics are consistently looked after.
This is not simply a driving role. It is a position of trust and responsibility within the household.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
