Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Automation Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Industrial Automation Systems, Test Rigs, Robotic Cells, and Assembly Automation.
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end mechanical design, concept development, customer interactions, design validation, and timely project execution while ensuring quality, safety, and cost-effective solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Design
- Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Test Rigs, and Industrial Automation Systems.
- Create machine concepts, 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering documentation.
- Select suitable mechanical components including linear guides, bearings, ball screws, pneumatic components, gearboxes, motors, and sensors.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
Project Execution
- Execute mechanical design activities for:
- Functional, Endurance, and Validation Test Rigs
- Assembly Line Automation Systems
- Robotic Integration and Automation Cells
- Vision Inspection Systems
- Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
- Plan design schedules and deliver projects within committed timelines.
- Manage design modifications, engineering changes, and technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements.
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and solution presentations.
- Translate customer requirements into practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Coordinate closely with Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Purchase, and Quality teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Review and validate mechanical designs before release for manufacturing.
- Support fabrication, assembly, machine trials, and commissioning activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in design standards, documentation, and engineering practices.
