Mission Brief: Build and Scale One of Our Leading D2C Brands in India
We're looking for a builder to own one of Lenskart's leading D2C brands in India end-to-end. P&L, growth strategy, and operational execution across retail, e-commerce, and marketing. Sitting at our India HQ, you'll effectively run the business as a founder would: setting the strategy, building the team, and making the commercial, brand, and operational calls that turn it into a category leader in India.
If you've founded a D2C brand, been part of a founding team, or consistently outperformed in a high-growth environment, this is a role built for you.
This is a builder's role at the intersection of business leadership, brand, and retail. You'll work closely with the global brand team, our India leadership, and internal functions spanning category, retail, e-commerce, supply chain, and finance while building a lean India team to execute the mission.
Core Mandate
1. Business Strategy & P&L Ownership (The Founder Focus)
-
Own the brand's India P&L end-to-end revenue, margin, and profitability making the trade-offs needed to build a healthy, scaling business.
-
Define and drive the India growth strategy: market entry sequencing, channel mix, pricing, and expansion roadmap across retail and online.
-
Position the brand clearly within our house-of-brands portfolio, with differentiation in price, design, and audience.
-
Decide where to invest stores, marketing, people, technology to maximise growth and return, and build the case for future investment.
2. Retail, Category & Channel Execution (The Growth Focus)
-
Own store performance and expansion — driving sell-through, productivity, and the store economics that justify further rollout.
-
Partner with category and buying teams to shape assortment strategy, ensuring product-market fit for Indian consumers while staying true to the brand's global design DNA.
-
Drive the brand's presence and growth across our app, website, and D2C channels, balancing brand experience with commercial performance.
-
Identify and build new channels and partnerships — marketplaces, collaborations, wholesale, and more — to extend reach in India.
3. Brand, Marketing & Consumer Experience
-
Ensure the brand's voice, positioning, and consumer experience in India stay true to its DNA within global brand guidelines.
-
Set the direction for the India marketing engine — brand campaigns, influencer and community building, and performance marketing — and hold the team accountable for outcomes.
-
Build a strong read on the Indian consumer — trends, buying behaviour, and sentiment — to keep the proposition sharp.
4. Global Coordination, Team & Stakeholder Leadership
-
Serve as the primary interface between the global brand team and India leadership — aligning on strategy, brand consistency, and market learnings.
-
Work across Retail, E-commerce, Category, Supply Chain, and Finance so the business runs as one integrated system.
-
Build, mentor, and lead a lean, high-performing India team.
-
Own business reviews and reporting cadences covering performance, strategy, and course corrections.
