Job Summary: The Payroll Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll tax compliance within the Shared Services team for the Safety Services segment. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. The Payroll Tax Specialist will ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings, resolve tax-related issues, and support the overall payroll process.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings.

Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Respond to and resolve payroll tax inquiries from government agencies.

Maintain accurate records of payroll tax transactions and documentation.

Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.

Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.

Assist with payroll tax audits and provide necessary documentation and support.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll tax compliance and efficiency.

Reconcile transactional tax information between payroll systems

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll tax compliance.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.

Experience in a shared services environment.

Knowledge of payroll tax implications for multi-state employers.
