Product Design - Design mechanical components, refrigeration systems, and sheet metal enclosures for chiller units and server rack air conditioners.
Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks software.
Thermal & Structural Analysis - Perform heat load calculations, airflow analysis, and structural strength assessments to ensure optimal performance and durability.
Collaborate with the electrical and R&D teams to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly with electrical systems.
Prototype Development & Testing - Oversee prototype builds and conduct performance testing, validating design reliability and efficiency.
Analyze test data and refine designs for improved performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
Material & Component Selection - Select appropriate materials, compressors, fans, heat exchangers, and other mechanical components based on performance requirements and durability.
Production Support - Work with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth production processes and resolve design-related issues on the shop floor.
Implement DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) principles to optimize production.
Skills & Requirements - Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, heat exchangers, and airflow dynamics.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
Knowledge of thermal analysis and mechanical simulations (e.g., ANSYS, CFD) is a plus.
Experience with sheet metal design, welding processes, and fabrication techniques.
Ability to interpret technical standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IS, DIN) and ensure compliance.
Hands-on problem-solving mindset, with attention to detail and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA) – SolidWorks Engineer (Sheet Metal Design)
Sheet Metal Design & Development.
Design sheet metal components and enclosures in SolidWorks based on product specifications.
Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precision engineering.
Ensure proper selection of materials considering strength, corrosion resistance, and weight.
Punching & Bending Drawings
Generate accurate 2D flat pattern drawings for CNC punching & laser cutting.
Provide bend allowances and bend deductions based on material thickness and process constraints.
Ensure correct hole positioning, notch allowances, and reliefs for bending operations.
Assembly Drawings & BOM Preparation
Develop detailed assembly drawings for fabrication & welding teams.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs) with accurate part numbers and quantities.
Define fastener types, weld spots, and joining techniques.
Coordinate with vendors for assembly feasibility and modifications.
Vendor Coordination & Release of Drawings
Release final manufacturing drawings to vendors with required tolerances.
Resolve vendor queries related to punching, bending, and assembly feasibility.
Maintain revision control for updated designs and document changes.
Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews.
