Job Description – Senior Research Associate
Background of Organization:
Kalike is an associate organisation of Tata Trusts seeded in 2012. Kalike through its direct field engagement, strives to facilitate deep, large-scale, and long-term impact on the quality of life through the interventions in area of Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Skill development for Youths, Water and Sanitation, Agri-based Livelihood and Elderly Care. Besides facilitating interventions in partnership with the state governments and other NGOs/Institutions, Kalike plays a critical role in providing monitoring services and technical support to Trusts partners; incubating new innovations/strategies, acts as a knowledge hub and works towards scaling up programs for long-term impact.
Our multi-thematic and integrated model works to bring about sustainable change, moving the community towards holistic human development. With over a decade since our inception, our base of operations is steadily spreading across regions of Karnataka & Tamil Nadu.
Theme: Research and Documentation
§ Provide technical support to project teams in the design and implementation of research activities.
§ Document project activities through various communication channels, including web stories, case studies, project briefs, and journal articles.
§ Analyze complex datasets using statistical or analytical tools to uncover key insights.
§ Design and conduct research studies and surveys as per project requrements.
§ Design and write comprehensive research reports, white papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
§ Develop and prepare research articles using field data for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
§ Work closely with line managers to promote results documentation, inter-project knowledge sharing, and the utilization of lessons learned and best practices.
§ Assist with the organization's evaluation, research, and project documentation efforts.
§ Identify and implement improvements to current research workflows, tools, and methodologies.
§ Guide and train junior research associates to ensure data quality and adherence to methodologies.
§ Undertake any other responsibilities that management may assign to you.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Domain expertise in early learning, specifically early language and literacy (school / university teaching experience desirable).
- Written proficiency and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in spoken Kannada and knowledge of written Kannada is desirable.
- Project Management skills, including team-management, report-writing, etc.
- Facilitation skills to conduct training and capacity-building workshops.
Education Qualifications and Experience
· Master’s or PhD degree in Education or Allied Social Sciences with 7-12 years of experience in Education. Demonstrated experience in working with Early Learning or Early Literacy domains.
