A Fleet Operator is responsible for managing the company's transportation operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements and delivery schedules.
- Allocate trucks and drivers based on delivery requirements.
- Monitor vehicle locations using GPS and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate full-load and part-load shipments to maximize vehicle utilization.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and transport partners.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid permits, insurance, fitness certificates, and statutory documents.
- Schedule preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and operating costs.
- Maintain records of trips, fuel usage, maintenance, and driver performance.
- Ensure compliance with road transport regulations and company safety policies.
- Handle vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and emergency situations efficiently.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities with warehouses and customers.
- Verify proof of delivery (POD) and ensure timely documentation.
- Negotiate transportation rates with transporters and fleet vendors when required.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet operation reports for management.
- Improve fleet efficiency by optimizing routes and reducing transportation costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations.
- Experience with GPS tracking and fleet management software.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel when required.

Pay: ₹13,131.50 - ₹44,400.36 per month
