The Senior Sales Associate will manage customers from their first enquiry until booking confirmation and payment. The role involves understanding customer requirements, recommending suitable decoration packages, preparing quotations, following up with leads, negotiating appropriately and closing bookings.
The ideal candidate should be confident in handling customers through phone calls, WhatsApp and digital sales channels. The person must have strong communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to achieve monthly sales targets in a fast-moving environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Management
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries received through the website, telephone, WhatsApp, social media and other lead-generation channels.
- Understand the customer’s event type, date, location, budget, venue and decoration preferences.
- Categorise and prioritise leads according to urgency, booking potential and event date.
- Maintain accurate lead information, conversation history and follow-up status in the company’s CRM or sales-management system.
- Ensure that no qualified enquiry is missed or left unattended.
- Re-engage old leads, incomplete enquiries and previous customers to generate additional bookings.
Customer Consultation
- Speak with customers professionally and understand their exact celebration requirements.
- Recommend suitable decoration packages, themes, add-ons and upgrades based on the customer’s occasion and budget.
- Explain product inclusions, exclusions, setup requirements, customisation options, cancellation terms and service conditions clearly.
- Share relevant photographs, videos, package information and pricing through WhatsApp or other approved channels.
- Help customers select the most appropriate package without creating unrealistic expectations.
- Suggest premium elements and useful add-ons that improve the customer’s event experience.
Sales Conversion
- Convert incoming enquiries into confirmed and paid bookings.
- Prepare accurate quotations based on package prices, customisation, location and operational requirements.
- Conduct timely and structured follow-ups through calls and WhatsApp.
- Handle customer objections related to price, design, availability, trust and service quality.
- Negotiate within the company’s approved pricing and discount policies.
- Create urgency ethically for events with limited availability or short booking windows.
- Achieve individual daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
- Improve conversion rates, average booking value and revenue generated per lead.
- Collect advance payments and ensure every confirmed booking is properly documented.
Upselling and Cross-selling
- Identify opportunities to sell premium packages and customised decoration concepts.
- Recommend relevant add-ons such as cakes, flowers, gifts, photographers, LED numbers, neon signs, welcome boards, balloon pillars and surprise arrangements.
- Encourage repeat bookings for future birthdays, anniversaries and family celebrations.
- Introduce customers to other suitable services offered by the company’s associated brands where relevant.
- Focus on increasing order value while keeping recommendations genuinely useful for the customer.
Booking Coordination
- Collect complete and accurate booking information before handing the order to the operations team.
- Verify the event date, reporting time, setup time, venue address, customer contact details, theme, colours, message, name and age.
- Record all commitments made to the customer, including approved customisations and special instructions.
- Coordinate with the design and operations teams to confirm feasibility before promising non-standard arrangements.
- Communicate changes or special requirements to the appropriate internal team without delay.
- Ensure smooth handover of confirmed bookings and remain available if customer clarification is required.
- Avoid overpromising services, designs, timelines or materials that have not been approved internally.
Customer Experience
- Maintain a professional, polite and solution-oriented approach throughout the sales process.
- Build trust by providing transparent pricing and accurate service information.
- Respond calmly to customer concerns and resolve pre-booking issues promptly.
- Follow up after selected events to collect feedback, reviews, photographs or referrals when required.
- Support the company in maintaining high customer-satisfaction and service-quality standards.
- Escalate sensitive complaints, refund requests or operational disputes to the appropriate manager.
Team and Reporting Responsibilities
- Maintain daily reports covering new leads, follow-ups, quotations, bookings, payments and lost opportunities.
- Update all lead stages and customer information accurately in the CRM.
- Share customer insights, frequently requested themes and recurring objections with management.
- Participate in daily sales reviews, target discussions and performance meetings.
- Assist junior sales associates with product knowledge, objection handling and follow-up techniques.
- Monitor the quality of sales conversations when assigned supervisory responsibilities.
- Coordinate with marketing regarding lead quality and campaign-specific enquiries.
- Help improve sales scripts, WhatsApp templates, quotation formats and conversion processes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferred.
- 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably in events, hospitality, wedding services, gifting, travel, e-commerce, tele-sales or consumer services.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good command of Hindi and English; Bengali will be an advantage.
- Comfortable handling customers through telephone calls and WhatsApp.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems, spreadsheets and basic sales-reporting tools.
- Ability to work under pressure during weekends, festivals and peak event seasons.
