Job Description – Senior Business Development Executive
Position: Senior Business Development Executive (Sr. BDE)
Department: Business Development & Sales
Reporting To: Director – International
Location: Chakan, Pune
Purpose of the Role
To identify and develop new business opportunities, manage key customer relationships, convert enquiries into profitable orders, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive sustainable business growth in the heavy fabrication, trailer, automotive, and engineering sectors.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and develop new customers in domestic and international markets.
- Generate new business through customer visits, networking, exhibitions, digital platforms, and referrals.
- Develop strategic business plans to achieve sales targets and revenue growth.
- Build long-term relationships with OEMs and industrial customers.
Sales & Customer Management
- Handle customer enquiries from lead generation to order conversion.
- Conduct customer meetings, technical discussions, and plant visits.
- Understand customer requirements and propose appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through regular communication and after-sales support.
RFQ & Techno-Commercial Management
- Review RFQs, technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Costing, Design, Purchase, Production, and Quality teams for quotation preparation.
- Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals within the committed timeline.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
Key Account Management
- Manage existing customer accounts and identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Develop account growth plans and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Market Intelligence
- Conduct competitor analysis and monitor industry trends.
- Identify emerging markets, customer requirements, and business opportunities.
- Perform SWOT analysis and recommend strategies for business expansion.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality, and Dispatch teams for smooth project execution.
- Monitor project milestones, delivery schedules, and customer commitments.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure timely issue resolution.
ERP / CRM & Reporting
- Maintain customer data and sales opportunities in ERP/CRM systems.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales MIS reports.
- Track sales pipeline, quotation status, order conversion ratio, and revenue forecasts.
- Present business development reports to management.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
- MBA (Marketing/International Business) – Preferred
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, Key Account Management, or Marketing.
- Experience in Heavy Fabrication, Trailer Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Sheet Metal, or Engineering Manufacturing is preferred.
