Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Assistant for the Robotics and Automation Engineering (R&AE) Department to support laboratory operations, practical sessions, and automation-related activities. The candidate will assist faculty members in conducting laboratory classes, guide students in handling robotics and automation systems, and ensure smooth functioning of laboratory equipment and facilities. The role requires sound technical knowledge in robotics, automation systems, sensors, controllers, embedded systems, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty members in conducting practical classes, laboratory sessions, and technical activities related to Robotics and Automation Engineering.
- Prepare laboratory equipment, robotic kits, automation systems, tools, instruments, and materials prior to practical sessions.
- Guide students in the safe operation, programming, testing, and application of robotic systems, PLCs, sensors, controllers, automation equipment, and embedded devices.
- Assist in wiring, assembly, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotics and automation systems.
- Maintain, calibrate, inspect, and coordinate the servicing and repair of laboratory equipment and automation devices to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor laboratory activities and enforce compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and departmental regulations.
- Maintain records of laboratory inventory, consumables, equipment utilization, maintenance schedules, and servicing activities.
- Support student projects, prototype development, technical competitions, practical examinations, and other departmental activities.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate with faculty members and departmental staff to ensure the smooth functioning of laboratory operations.
Desired Candidate Qualification
- B.E / Diploma in Robotics and Automation Engineering / Mechatronics / ECE / EEE – mandatory.
- 2–5 years of experience in robotics, automation labs, or industrial automation environments.
- Strong knowledge of robotics systems, sensors, PLCs, embedded systems, and automation concepts.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring, controllers, programming, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to handle laboratory equipment, robotic kits, and automation systems effectively.
- Good knowledge of laboratory safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to assist students during practical sessions, projects, and technical activities.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Experience in educational institutions/polytechnic/engineering colleges is preferred.
