Emversity is looking for a qualified and motivated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with a specialization or relevant academic background in Medical Laboratory Technology and Microbiology.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting practical training and hands-on learning for students in Medical Laboratory Technology, with a focus on microbiology-related laboratory procedures, techniques, equipment, and industry practices.
This role is suitable for candidates with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT). Candidates with a degree in Microbiology who have relevant Medical Laboratory Technology experience and are comfortable working in an MLT environment may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct practical and hands-on training sessions for MLT students, particularly in microbiology-related areas.
- Demonstrate appropriate laboratory procedures, techniques, equipment handling, and safety practices.
- Support students in developing practical laboratory skills aligned with healthcare industry requirements.
- Explain microbiology concepts, laboratory procedures, and relevant diagnostic practices clearly to students.
- Supervise students during practical and laboratory sessions and ensure adherence to safety and laboratory protocols.
- Assess students' practical knowledge and performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate academic and practical guidance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised laboratory and practical learning environment.
- Ensure appropriate preparation and handling of laboratory materials and equipment required for practical sessions.
- Maintain relevant records, reports, and documentation related to practical training and student performance.
- Stay updated with relevant developments, laboratory practices, and industry requirements in medical laboratory technology and microbiology.
- Contribute to improving practical training methodologies and overall student learning outcomes.
Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)
- M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MMLT)
Also considered:
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology with relevant Medical Laboratory Technology experience.
- Candidates with relevant laboratory experience and practical knowledge may also be considered based on their skills and subject expertise.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong practical knowledge of Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Good understanding of microbiology and related laboratory procedures.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and demonstrate practical procedures effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and support their practical learning.
- Strong attention to laboratory safety, hygiene, and documentation.
- Prior experience in a diagnostic laboratory, hospital laboratory, teaching, training, or academic environment is preferred.
Candidates with relevant experience in Medical Laboratory Technology or Microbiology will be preferred.
Freshers with a relevant B.Sc./M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology may also be considered based on their academic background, practical knowledge, and suitability for the role.
Work Schedule
- Working Days: 6 days a week
- Shift Timings: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Work Mode: On-site
Compensation
- B.Sc. MLT Fresher: Up to ₹3.8 LPA
- M.Sc. MLT Fresher: Up to ₹4.5 LPA
- Experienced Candidates: ₹3–5 LPA, depending on relevant experience, skills, and interview performance
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
