About the Role
Design Monad Studio is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our team and grow with the studio.
This role is ideal for a fresh graduate who is passionate about interiors, has a good eye for design and materials, and is eager to understand how a project moves from an idea on paper to a finished space.
You will work closely with the studio founder and project team across design development, drawings, material selection, documentation, vendor coordination and site execution.
We are looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, responsible and willing to learn. You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you should be willing to ask questions, take ownership and improve quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Assist in developing interior design concepts and presentations.
- Prepare and modify 2D drawings, furniture layouts, elevations, sections and detailed drawings.
- Assist with 3D modelling and visualisation wherever required.
- Prepare mood boards, material boards and design presentations.
- Research materials, finishes, furniture, lighting and décor.
- Assist in developing design details under the guidance of the senior designer.
Project Coordination
- Maintain organised project drawings, documents and material information.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors and suppliers as required.
- Assist with preparing material specifications and quantity requirements.
- Follow up on samples, quotations and material procurement.
- Help ensure that design intent is maintained during execution.
Site & Execution
- Attend site visits as required.
- Assist with site measurements and documentation.
- Understand drawings and observe how design details are executed on site.
- Record site observations and coordinate required changes with the project team.
- Develop an understanding of construction, materials and detailing through hands-on exposure.
Studio Support
- Assist with ongoing projects across different stages.
- Support the team with presentations, research, sourcing and project documentation.
- Keep up with new materials, products, design trends and industry developments.
- Take responsibility for assigned tasks and meet agreed timelines.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design / Interior Architecture / Architecture.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Good understanding of basic interior design principles, materials and space planning.
- Working knowledge of relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, V-Ray, Enscape or similar.
- Strong visual sense and attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to visit sites and understand execution firsthand.
- Ability to take feedback positively and implement it.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently when required while collaborating effectively with the team.
What You’ll Learn
At Design Monad Studio, you will get exposure to the complete interior design process, including:
Concept → Design Development → Drawings → Materials → Vendor Coordination → Site Execution → Handover
The aim is to help you develop from a design graduate into a well-rounded interior designer who understands not just how a space should look, but how it actually gets built.
Work Structure
This is a hybrid role, combining studio/home-based work with site visits and client/vendor meetings as required by project schedules.
Flexibility is important, but so is accountability. The role requires the ability to manage assigned work independently and remain responsive to the team while working remotely.
