Technical Support - Sales and Service Engineer (Instrumentation & Automation)

Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer with experience in Industrial Instrumentation, Process Automation, Technical Sales Support, Proposal Engineering, or Tendering. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the sales team by preparing techno-commercial offers, handling customer inquiries, coordinating order execution, and providing technical assistance to customers.
This position is ideal for candidates who possess strong technical knowledge of instrumentation products and enjoy working closely with customers, sales teams, procurement, and operations to ensure successful project execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Sales Support
- Prepare techno-commercial quotations based on customer RFQs, inquiries, and specifications.
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable instrumentation and automation solutions.
- Provide technical support to customers and the sales team regarding product applications and specifications.
- Respond to technical and commercial clarifications from customers in a timely manner.
Tendering & Proposal Management
- Review tender documents and customer specifications.
- Prepare compliance statements, technical submissions, and commercial offers.
- Handle tender participation and bidding activities, including GeM Portal opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams and principals/OEMs for obtaining technical and commercial information.
Customer & Sales Coordination
- Act as a liaison between customers, sales, procurement, logistics, and finance teams.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Support the sales team in achieving business objectives through effective coordination and technical assistance.
- Ensure prompt communication and follow-up on customer requirements.
Order Processing & Execution Support
- Coordinate order processing activities from receipt of order to dispatch.
- Work with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability and delivery.
- Assist in maintaining accurate order records, documentation, and customer correspondence.
- Provide dispatch and invoicing-related information to the concerned departments.
Market & Product Knowledge
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and automation products.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying potential opportunities within existing and new customer segments.
Desired Candidate ProfileEducational Qualification
- BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Technical Sales Support, Inside Sales, Proposal Engineering, Tendering, Customer Support, or Industrial Instrumentation.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and process automation products.
- Experience in preparing quotations, techno-commercial proposals, and tender documentation.
- Familiarity with GeM Portal bidding processes.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Good proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused approach.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates from Industrial Instrumentation, Process Automation, Control & Automation, EPC, OEM, Manufacturing, Power, Steel, Cement, Chemical, Oil & Gas, or related industries will be preferred.
