This role entails overseeing and managing the company's entire supply chain, procurement, and logistics strategy to optimize process efficiency and productivity. The incumbent will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating vendors to ensure they meet our quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Independently qualifying and developing local suppliers for the full range of parts for our extrusion and stretch blow molding machines in accordance with the procurement strategy.
Ø Monitor market trends, pricing developments and achieve target prices through effective sourcing.
Ø Ensure local suppliers contribute to continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Ø Establishing primary and secondary suppliers for key critical components.
Ø Ensure suppliers can deliver products and services in compliance with international standards, including ISO requirements and applicable quality guidelines
Ø Continuous material availability and optimization of inventory levels.
Ø Responsible for implementing the procurement strategy in close collaboration with the General Manager and Head of SCM (Switzerland).
Develop and implement effective make-or-buy strategies to optimize cost, quality, capacity, and operational efficiency.
Requisite Criteria
Ø Holds a degree in Mechanical/Industrial and Production Engineering from a recognized institution.
Ø Possesses substantial knowledge of Alloy materials, Fabrication, Machined parts, Casting, Special finishing processes, Electrical and Electronic components, and other purchased parts.
Ø Demonstrates expertise in the procurement of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic components.
Ø Ideally, has accumulated 10 to 12 years of experience in the machine tool industry.
Ø Exhibits proficiency in quality control and understanding of inventory management principles.
Ø Familiar with commercial aspects of sourcing, including GST, Advance License (DGFT), Customs procedures, and the ability to prepare comparative charts for decision-making.
Ø Willingness to travel frequently (India).
Fluent in English (mandatory) as well as relevant local languages (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Kanada).
