Senior Technical Business Analyst - Intelligent Automation, RPA & AIPosition Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically strong Senior Technical Business Analyst - Intelligent Automation, RPA & AI to support enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives. This role will serve as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, automation engineers, architects, and AI development teams to drive scalable automation and AI solutions across the organization.
This position is not a traditional Business Analyst role. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen combined with business process expertise and program delivery experience. The role requires hands-on involvement in automation strategy, solution design, technical project coordination, AI/ML initiatives, and enterprise architecture collaboration.
The successful candidate will lead automation discovery efforts, analyze and optimize complex business processes, define technical and functional requirements, and support the implementation of end-to-end intelligent automation solutions leveraging RPA, Machine Learning, Generative AI, OpenAI technologies, Process Mining, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), APIs, and enterprise integrations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Process Transformation
- Partner with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams to identify automation and AI transformation opportunities across enterprise functions.
- Lead discovery workshops and process assessments to understand current-state operations, pain points, and optimization opportunities.
- Gather, analyze, prioritize, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Translate business requirements into scalable automation and AI solution designs.
- Develop Process Design Documents (PDDs), workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and operational documentation.
- Analyze complex business processes and recommend process improvements using automation, AI, and digital technologies.
- Support enterprise process standardization and optimization initiatives. Technical Architecture & Solution Design
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and security teams to design scalable, secure, and maintainable automation solutions.
- Understand end-to-end automation architecture including RPA, APIs and web services, workflow orchestration, OCR/IDP platforms, Conversational AI, Machine Learning services, Generative AI solutions, and enterprise integrations.
- Evaluate technical feasibility, dependencies, integration requirements, scalability, and operational impacts of proposed solutions.
- Support architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards, governance, and security requirements.
- Participate in technical design sessions and provide recommendations on automation frameworks and reusable solution patterns.
- Understand enterprise ecosystems including ERP, CRM, cloud platforms, middleware, databases, and analytics environments. Intelligent Automation & AI Strategy
- Identify opportunities to leverage RPA, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and OpenAI technologies to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.
- Support AI-driven initiatives including GPT/OpenAI implementations, AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Conversational AI, intelligent search, document understanding, and knowledge automation.
- Collaborate with technical teams on prompt engineering strategies, AI orchestration workflows, and human-in-the-loop automation models.
- Evaluate AI use cases for scalability, compliance, governance, and business value realization.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions aligned with business objectives. Program & Technical Project Management
- Lead automation and AI initiatives from intake through deployment, hypercare, and operational transition.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, developers, QA, architects, vendors, and infrastructure teams.
- Manage project timelines, delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, and escalation items.
- Facilitate technical and business workshops to accelerate alignment and decision-making.
- Support Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning activities.
- Drive status reporting, governance updates, and executive-level communication for automation initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale business transformation, automation, or technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst with direct engagement across business and technology teams.
- 5+ years of experience delivering intelligent automation solutions using RPA and AI technologies.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional enterprise automation and AI implementations.
- Strong understanding of enterprise solution architecture and system integration concepts.
- Hands-on experience with UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
- Experience with Process Mining, OCR/IDP platforms, Conversational AI, workflow orchestration, and API integrations.
- Strong understanding of Machine Learning concepts and AI solution implementation.
- Experience working with Generative AI and OpenAI/Azure OpenAI technologies.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI agents, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and conversational AI frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or financial services preferred. Preferred Technical Skills
