The Junior Interior Designer will assist in the planning, design, and execution of restaurant interior projects. Working closely with senior designers, architects, project managers, and operations teams, you will help create functional, aesthetically appealing, and brand-consistent dining environments from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing interior design concepts, mood boards, layouts, and presentation materials.
- Prepare design drawings, space plans, and 3D visualizations using design software.
- Select furniture, fixtures, finishes, lighting, materials, and décor that align with brand standards and project budgets.
- Support the preparation of construction drawings and design documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout project execution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure design intent is maintained.
- Assist in sourcing materials, obtaining samples, and maintaining design libraries.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, and mock-ups.
- Help manage project timelines, documentation, and design approvals.
- Stay informed about current interior design trends, hospitality concepts, and sustainable design practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in interior design (hospitality or restaurant experience is an advantage).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with rendering software will be a plus
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, lighting, and furniture selection.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Preferred Skills
- Creative thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents.
- Knowledge of local building codes and accessibility standards is an advantage.
