Role: Business Consultant – MES
Location: Chennai (Ekkatuthangal)
Experience: 5 – 10 Years
Working Days - Monday to Friday
Working Hours - 9 Hours (8 Hours Working + 1 Hour Break)
Job Overview
We are looking for experienced Plant Managers, Production Managers, Line Heads, or Manufacturing Operations Professionals who have strong expertise in production planning and shop floor operations and are interested in transitioning into an exciting IT consulting career.
The ideal candidate should possess deep manufacturing domain knowledge and work closely with customers to understand business processes, gather requirements, and implement Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions that improve production efficiency, traceability, quality, and operational excellence.
Prior experience with any MES platform is an added advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers to understand manufacturing processes and production workflows.
- Analyse existing shop floor operations and identify opportunities for digital transformation.
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements for MES implementations.
- Translate manufacturing business requirements into functional specifications.
- Participate in MES solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with technical consultants and development teams during project execution.
- Support production planning, scheduling, traceability, quality management, and reporting solutions.
- Conduct customer workshops, requirement discussions, and user training sessions.
- Assist customers during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Go-Live support.
- Recommend industry best practices to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Prepare business process documentation and functional design documents.
- Support pre-sales activities, customer demonstrations, and solution presentations whenever required.
- Build strong customer relationships and provide consulting throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations, Production Planning, Plant Management, or Line Management.
- Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, FMCG, or Process Industries is preferred.
- Hands-on exposure to Production Planning, Shop Floor Operations, Quality, Inventory, or Manufacturing Execution.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SAP ME, Opcenter Execution, Apriso, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, or similar MES platforms is an added advantage.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, or Smart Manufacturing initiatives is preferred.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Passion for consulting and willingness to build a career in Digital Manufacturing and MES.
