Job Summary
The Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, conducting research, guiding student projects, and contributing to academic and administrative activities of the department. The role involves developing curriculum, publishing research, and supporting the institution's academic excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Duties
- Teach Civil Engineering subjects such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Construction Management.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and examinations.
- Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance.
- Supervise laboratory sessions, fieldwork, and project activities.
- Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Research & Development
- Conduct research in relevant Civil Engineering disciplines.
- Publish research papers in reputed journals and conferences.
- Apply for research grants and funded projects.
- Collaborate with industry and academic institutions on research initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees.
- Assist in curriculum development and accreditation activities.
- Organize workshops, seminars, conferences, and technical events.
- Support admissions, examinations, and other institutional activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master's Degree (M.Tech./M.E.) in Civil Engineering or a relevant specialization with good academic records.
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (preferred or as per institutional requirements).
- Qualification requirements as per applicable regulatory norms (e.g., university or government guidelines).
- GATE qualified.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and applications.
- Effective teaching and presentation skills.
- Research and technical writing abilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience
- Prior teaching, research, or industry experience is desirable.
- Experience in handling laboratories and research projects is an advantage.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
