Job Title: Phlebotomist
Reports To: Director
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe, hygienic, and professional manner. The role involves ensuring patient comfort, maintaining accuracy in sample handling, and following all safety and infection control protocols.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups
· Ensure proper patient identification before sample collection
· Maintain aseptic techniques and follow hygiene protocols at all times
· Label and handle samples accurately to avoid errors
· Maintain records of samples collected and update patient data in the system
· Ensure proper storage and transportation of samples to the laboratory
· Explain procedures to patients and provide reassurance to reduce anxiety
· Handle difficult or anxious patients with care and professionalism
· Dispose of biomedical waste as per guidelines
· Maintain cleanliness of the collection area and equipment
· Coordinate with lab staff for timely processing of samples
Additional Responsibilities
- Home sample collection (field visits)
- Visit Other centres for sample collection
- Reporting stock requirements (needles, vacutainers, gloves, etc.)
- Supporting front desk or patient coordination when needed
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
