Key Role & Responsibility-
. CNC Programming
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T requirements
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
2. Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up VMC machines including fixtures, tools, and work offsets
- Perform trial runs and prove out programs
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish
3. Tooling & Fixture Development
- Design or suggest fixtures for efficient machining
- Support fabrication team with jigs and fixtures for bending/welding
- Optimize tooling to reduce cycle time
4. Quality Control (aligned with ISO 9001)
- Ensure parts meet drawing specifications and tolerances
- Use measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, CMM if available)
- Maintain inspection records and support audits
5. Process Optimization
- Reduce cycle time and improve productivity
- Minimize tool wear and machining cost
- Suggest improvements in design for manufacturability (DFM)
6. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve machining issues (tool breakage, vibration, inaccuracies)
- Coordinate with maintenance for machine upkeep
- Maintain program library and backups
7. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain CNC program records and setup sheets
- Follow safety and operational guidelines (aligned with ISO 45001)
- Ensure proper material identification and traceability
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining (VMC operations)
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam / Fusion 360)
- Understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and materials (MS, SS, aluminum)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Problem-solving and process improvement mindset
Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–4 years of experience in VMC programming and machining
- Experience in tooling for sheet metal preferred
- Offered CTC-4-6 LPA
