1. Job Purpose
To support Kuehne + Nagel’s Contract Logistics operations by ensuring labour compliance, stable employee relations, contractor governance, and timely resolution of workforce issues across warehouse and distribution facilities. The role safeguards people stability, operational continuity, customer SLAs, and supports QSHE compliance to maintain K+N’s global standards of safety, integrity, and excellence.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Industrial Relations & Workforce Management
Maintain a constructive relationship with shop-floor workforce, supervisors, and contractors across K+N CL sites.
Support the IR Manager in handling union interactions, settlement discussions, and compliance with local labour norms.
Manage day-to-day grievances—absenteeism, behaviour issues, disputes, and discipline cases.
Ensure zero disruption to warehouse operations due to labour-related challenges.
Participate in IR risk assessments during new customer onboarding or warehouse expansions.
B. Labour Law Compliance (India CL Ops)
Ensure 100% compliance with:
Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act
Shops & Establishments Act / Factories Act
Social Security Codes (PF, ESI, Gratuity)
Minimum Wages & Payment of Wages Act
POSH Act
Maintain updated statutory registers and liaise with government authorities.
Prepare sites for customer audits, SMETA, ESG, and sustainability audits as required.
C. Contractor & Manpower Management
Verify contractor documentation, licenses, ESIC/PF challans, and CLRA compliance.
Review and validate:
Deployment vs. attendance
Wage sheets
OT calculations
Bonus/leave register
Assist in monthly contractor compliance audits following K+N Vendor Management Guidelines.
Coordinate onboarding, biometric registration, CILT records, and gate pass issuance.
D. Disciplinary Process & Investigation Support
Assist in domestic inquiries, investigation reports, and documentation.
Prepare charge sheets, warnings, and counselling reports aligned with K+N policies.
Support QSHE in incident investigations where industrial behaviour, safety rules, or SOP non-compliance are involved.
E. Workforce Engagement & Culture Building
Conduct engagement sessions, toolbox talks, and welfare committee meetings.
Promote K+N values: Care, Commitment, Collaboration, Courage on the shop floor.
Facilitate communication on safety, behavioural expectations, and operational discipline.
Run initiatives to reduce attrition and absenteeism at CL sites.
F. Reporting & Documentation
Publish monthly IR MIS:
Attrition
Absenteeism
Disciplinary actions
Grievances
Contractor compliance
Maintain records for internal audits, customer requirement sheets, and global compliance systems.
3. Skills & Competencies
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of labour laws (India)
Experience in multi-shift, high-volume logistics/warehousing environments
Understanding of CLRA, payroll components, and manpower compliance
Familiarity with safety rules in warehousing operations (MHE, LOTO, forklift zones)

4. Education & Experience
Qualification: MBA/PGDM (HR), MSW, MLW, or equivalent
Experience: 2–5 years in IR/HR Operations; logistics/3PL/warehousing sector preferred
Experience interacting with third-party manpower vendors and unionized environments is an advantage
5. Work Environment
On-ground presence across warehouses, hubs, and distribution centres
Must be available during urgent IR situations or audits
Travel required to K+N CL sites within region/country
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
