OVERVIEW
TransPerfect helps organizations navigate the global marketplace. It remains founder-led and has striven to maintain the ethos and drive that led them to grow organically year-on-year for the past 30 years. Starting in an NYU dorm room in the early 1990s, TransPerfect is today recognized as the largest translation and language services company in the world, with thousands of employees located in 100+ offices around the world and over $1 billion in revenue.
The TransPerfect TechOps team has been a vital part of the company’s success since its formation over a decade ago -delivering technology and services that have drastically simplified the lives of our clients and colleagues, from workflow improvements for colleagues to core services that form the basis of the company’s GlobalLink platform, to scalable client interfaces that allow novice users to navigate complex ecosystems.
About this Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Team Lead to head a squad of 6–10 full-stack engineers within the TechOps division. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will be expected to remain a strong individual contributor - writing, reviewing, and owning production code - while simultaneously guiding the team’s technical direction, growth, and delivery.
This position offers:
-
A high-impact leadership role at the intersection of engineering excellence and product delivery
-
Ownership of a full-stack product surface spanning the GlobalLink platform and internal tooling
-
The opportunity to shape engineering culture, raise the technical bar, and grow a talented team
-
Competitive compensation and the advantages of working within a world-leading language technology company
DESCRIPTION:
-
Remain a strong individual contributor: design, develop, and maintain production-grade full-stack applications alongside the team
-
Lead architectural decisions for features and systems; translate business requirements into clear, well-scoped technical solutions
-
Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews; enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the codebase
-
Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release quality to increase engineering velocity
-
Identify, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues and production incidents; serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for the team
-
Continuously evaluate the technology stack, tooling, and processes - propose and drive modernisation initiatives
-
Directly manage a team of 6 –10 full-stack engineers, including regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and individual development plans
-
Mentor and coach engineers at all levels; identify strengths and growth areas, and create opportunities for career advancement
-
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and psychological safety within the team
-
Recruit, onboard, and ramp up new engineers effectively
-
Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, effort estimation, and delivery commitments in close collaboration with Product Managers
-
Act as the primary point of coordination between the engineering team and QA, Product, and other stakeholders
-
Track and communicate project scope, schedule, risks, and dependencies proactively - escalate blockers before they become issues
-
Operate effectively within an Agile/Scrum environment; drive continuous process improvement across the development lifecycle
-
Work with QA leads to define quality gates, code coverage targets, and automated testing strategies
-
Provide constructive feedback to management staff during all phases of the software lifecycle to keep development priorities aligned with business needs
-
15+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4–5 years in a formal Team Lead or Senior Technical Leadership role managing 5+ engineers
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field; MCA/BCA also considered
-
Deep, production-level expertise in .NET Core, C#, Web API, - able to write, review, and own backend code, not just oversee it
-
Strong SQL Server skills: query optimisation, schema design, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning
-
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design principles, and event-driven patterns (e.g., RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems)
-
Strong grasp of the Microsoft technology stack: IIS, .NET, Web Services, SQL Server, Windows Server, Clustering, Active Directory
-
Hands-on proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework: Vue.js, Angular, or React
-
TypeScript fluency and experience building maintainable, component-based single-page applications

Experience managing projects and teams using agile management technologies such as Jira, Team Foundation Server, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Trello, etc.
-
Working knowledge of cloud platforms - Azure or AWS - including compute, networking, databases, storage, and monitoring
-
Demonstrated track record of mentoring engineers, driving performance reviews, and growing technical talent
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders
-
A problem solver’s mentality with the ability to effectively communicate solutions and issues to stakeholders
