Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Autocad Draftsman/Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AutoCAD, CAD, and SolidWorks with the ability to create accurate engineering drawings, develop innovative mechanical designs, and support manufacturing operations. The candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Design, develop, and modify mechanical components, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.
- Create manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and production layouts with high accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and other engineering documentation.
- Review customer specifications and convert them into practical engineering designs.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and purchase departments to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify design improvements to enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve productivity.
- Provide technical support to production teams during fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Resolve design-related issues and implement corrective actions when required.
- Maintain design revisions, documentation, and records in an organized manner.
- Participate in product development, prototype evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned design projects while meeting project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and SolidWorks.
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and mechanical design principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and sheet metal design is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Good time management and attention to detail.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/BSE or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Autocad Draftsman/Designer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the aluminium extrusion industry will be an added advantage.
