Job Summary
The Cashier in a jewellery store is responsible for handling billing operations, processing customer payments, maintaining transaction records, and ensuring accurate cash management while delivering excellent customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Payment Handling
- Generate accurate invoices and bills for jewellery purchases.
- Handle cash, card, UPI, bank transfer, and EMI transactions.
- Verify pricing, discounts, making charges, taxes, and exchange values.
- Ensure proper billing as per company policies and GST regulations.
Cash Management
- Maintain daily cash balance and petty cash records.
- Perform opening and closing cash reconciliation.
- Deposit cash safely as per store procedures.
- Report cash discrepancies immediately.
Customer Service
- Assist customers during billing and payment processes.
- Explain payment details, schemes, exchange policies, and warranties.
- Handle customer queries politely and professionally.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain billing records and transaction reports.
- Prepare daily sales and cash reports.
- Coordinate with accounts and audit teams during verification.
Security & Compliance
- Follow jewellery store security and confidentiality protocols.
- Ensure safe handling of high-value transactions.
- Maintain accuracy in billing and stock-related entries.
Coordination
- Coordinate with sales staff for smooth customer handling.
- Support showroom operations during rush hours and festive sales.
Required Skills
- Basic accounting and cash handling knowledge

- Basic MS Excel knowledge
Qualification
- 12th Pass / Graduate in Commerce preferred
Experience
- Fresher or 1–4 years in cashiering, billing, or retail operations
- Jewellery retail experience preferred
