Risk and Modelling Analyst

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Experience Level: 2-5 years

Job Summary

We are seeking a Risk and Modelling Analyst. Your role will be to support data-driven decision-making and risk management for our loan portfolio. This dynamic role offers the chance to work on analytics, model building, portfolio monitoring, and process improvements in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and grow as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze loan portfolio data using tools like Python, MySQL, Excel, or dashboarding platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Superset) to deliver actionable insights.
Assist in developing risk models and strategic frameworks to support business objectives.
Build and maintain portfolio dashboards to visualize key risk and performance metrics for internal stakeholders.
Help monitor and manage multiple risks, including credit risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and compliance risk, across secured and unsecured loan products.
Contribute to designing efficient operational processes to enhance productivity.
Support the creation of risk policies to guide lending decisions.
Assist in developing underwriting strategies to evaluate loan applications effectively.
Work closely with tech, product, business, collections, and operations teams to stay informed on all aspects of the business and contribute to risk-aware strategies.
Assist in organizing, storing, and analyzing data to drive business growth while managing risk.
Take on additional tasks as needed in a flexible startup setting.

Qualifications

2-4 years of experience in data analysis, risk management, or a related field (fintech experience is a plus).
Proficiency in at least one data manipulation and analysis tool (e.g., Python, MySQL, Excel), with familiarity in dashboarding tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Superset being a plus.
Basic understanding of various risk types (e.g., credit, operational, liquidity) and data processes.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and staying informed across functions.
Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a growing startup.
Interest in using data to solve real-world financial challenges.
