Role Summary
As a Biomedical Engineer, you will ensure the safe and effective operation of medical equipment and technology. You’ll apply engineering principles to install, maintain, repair, and optimize medical devices that support patient diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. Your work will help maintain high standards of clinical safety, equipment reliability, and compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Equipment Management
- Install, test, calibrate, and commission biomedical equipment (e.g., imaging systems, patient monitors, ventilators, lab analyzers).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults; coordinate with vendors/manufacturers for complex repairs.
Technical Support & Training
- Provide technical support and guidance to clinical staff on correct operation and safety protocols.
- Train healthcare professionals and technicians in equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure equipment meets safety standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., NABH/JCI).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments related to medical devices.
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Monitor biomedical equipment inventory; support procurement decisions with technical evaluations.
- Liaise with third-party service providers for specialized equipment servicing.
Process Improvement
- Recommend upgrades or replacements to improve performance and operational efficiency.
- Support projects integrating new medical technologies.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- Typically 1–5 years in biomedical equipment maintenance, clinical engineering, or equivalent technical support role in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Skills
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills with medical devices and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to hospital equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for training and coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Working Environment
- Role based within a hospital setting, interacting with clinical and technical teams.
- May involve rotational on-call support for critical equipment and emergency response.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
