A labour supervisor oversees workers on construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or maintenance sites to ensure daily work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standard.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Assigning daily tasks and supervising labour teams.
- Monitoring attendance, productivity, and work progress.
- Ensuring workers follow safety rules and use protective equipment.
- Checking the quality of completed work and resolving basic site issues.
- Coordinating with site engineers, contractors, or managers.
- Maintaining records of manpower, materials, tools, and daily activities.
- Training new workers on procedures and safe work practices.
- Reporting delays, accidents, shortages, or disciplinary concerns.
