Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our Architecture & Construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tendering, billing, cost control, and contract administration. The role requires close coordination with architects, engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and site personnel to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstimation & BOQ Preparation
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
- Prepare project budgets and feasibility cost reports.
- Estimate material, labour, machinery, and subcontractor costs.
Billing & Contract Administration
- Measure work completed at site and certify quantities.
- Process variation orders, additional work claims, and contract amendments.
- Maintain proper documentation for contracts, work orders, and billing records.
Cost Monitoring & Project Control
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Track material consumption, wastage, and resource utilization.
- Prepare cost variance reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project managers in achieving cost efficiency and profitability.
Site Coordination
- Conduct regular site visits for quantity verification and progress measurement.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, site supervisors, and consultants.
- Resolve quantity-related issues during project execution.
- Ensure measurements comply with project specifications and approved drawings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain estimation records, BOQs, billing files, and cost reports.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports for management.
- Ensure all project documentation is updated and properly archived.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in architecture, construction, or real estate projects.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and relevant internship experience may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and construction estimation.
- Experience in client billing, contractor billing, and cost management.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and project costing.
- Good analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in residential villas, commercial buildings, apartments, or institutional projects.
- Knowledge of Kerala Schedule of Rates (SOR) and local construction practices.
- Familiarity with ERP software, project management systems, or billing software is an added advantage.
