Job Title: General Manager – Purchase

The General Manager – Purchase is responsible for leading and managing the entire procurement function of the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of construction materials, equipment, services, and contracts for all real estate projects. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, contract management, supply chain efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead procurement planning for ongoing and upcoming real estate projects.
- Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor and contractor network.
- Negotiate high-value contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure quality, cost, and delivery compliance.
- Conduct vendor audits and performance reviews.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
- Ensure procurement activities are within approved budgets.
- Monitor procurement expenditure and prepare management reports.
- Optimize procurement processes to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Project Procurement
- Coordinate with Project Heads, Engineering, and Site Teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Monitor procurement schedules to avoid project delays.
- Manage procurement for civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, finishing, and infrastructure works.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the procurement team across multiple locations and projects.
- Set departmental objectives and performance metrics.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Mitigate procurement-related risks through effective planning and supplier diversification.
- Maintain transparency and ethical procurement practices.
- Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and audit readiness.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Finance, Projects, Contracts, Stores, and Senior Management.
- Present procurement reports, savings initiatives, and project updates to management.
- Support business expansion and new project procurement planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement preferred.
Experience
- 12–18+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role within the Real Estate, Construction, or Infrastructure sector.
- Proven experience in handling large-scale procurement budgets and multi-project operations.

Pay: ₹22,313.85 - ₹80,000.00 per month
