Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer with strong expertise in Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA systems. The ideal candidate should have 5–6 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, delivering automation solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving projects to successful completion. This role demands a high degree of productivity, ownership, and the ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens platforms) for automotive automation projects.
- Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and optimisation of automation systems to ensure smooth functioning and minimal downtime.
- Prepare, review, and modify control logic, ladder diagrams, functional descriptions, and technical documentation.
- Integrate and commission automation systems for assembly lines, robotic cells, and special-purpose machines in automotive plants.
- Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and clients to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and budget.
- Conduct site support, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) activities at customer locations.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality procedures, and client specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to client teams to ensure the smooth operation of installed systems.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in Allen-Bradley (RSLogix, Studio 5000), Mitsubishi, and Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7) PLC platforms.
- Hands-on experience with HMI/SCADA development and integration across these platforms.
- Proven troubleshooting ability in resolving complex PLC and automation issues.
- Sound knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, CC-Link, etc.).
- Practical experience in automotive automation applications such as assembly lines, welding lines, BIW automation, or special purpose machines.
- Ability to interpret and work with electrical schematics, control diagrams, and I/O lists.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and productive work approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
- Willingness to travel for project commissioning and customer support, both in India and abroad.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in PLC programming for automotive industry projects.
