The Senior Analyst – Cash Application plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely application of customer payments, supporting effective cash flow management and receivables performance. The role serves as a subject matter expert for complex cash application processes, exception management, and reconciliation activities. Working closely with Collections, Treasury, Customer Service, and other stakeholders, the incumbent drives issue resolution and process efficiency. The position is responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance, and supporting month-end close activities. Additionally, the role contributes to automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and accuracy. As a senior team member, the individual also mentors junior associates and supports governance, reporting, and transformation projects.
So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
- Cash Application & O2C Expertise
Strong knowledge of cash application processes, payment allocation, bank reconciliations, unapplied cash management, and exception handling.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, resolve complex issues, and drive timely closure of customer payment exceptions.
- SAP & Technical Proficiency
Hands-on experience with SAP, advanced Excel skills, and exposure to automation tools such as Auto Cash, RPA, or AI-driven solutions.
- Stakeholder Management & Leadership
Strong communication and collaboration skills to manage cross-functional stakeholders, handle escalations, and mentor junior team members.
- Ownership & Continuous Improvement Mindset
Demonstrates accountability for results, ensures compliance and control adherence, and proactively drives process standardization, automation, and Lean Six Sigma improvements.
