Job Summary
We are looking for a Planning Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in production planning and fabrication. The candidate should have hands-on experience in nesting, AutoCAD, and production planning for steel fabrication or manufacturing projects. The role involves preparing production plans, optimizing material utilization, coordinating with production teams, and ensuring timely execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules.
- Create and optimize nesting plans to maximize raw material utilization and minimize wastage.
- Prepare and modify fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, quality, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor production progress and update planning reports regularly.
- Analyze material requirements and coordinate with the procurement team for timely availability.
- Track production targets and identify delays or bottlenecks.
- Maintain production schedules and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
- Prepare production MIS reports and planning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety procedures during production planning.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Nesting Software (SigmaNEST, ProNest, FastCAM, or similar).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of fabrication drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of production planning, material management, and scheduling.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
