Compliance Manager – US Payments & AML Compliance
Position Overview
Lead and manage the compliance function for US payments operations, ensuring adherence to BSA/AML regulations, NACHA rules, OFAC requirements, and fintech regulatory standards. Oversee compliance monitoring across ACH, wires, checks, SWIFT, and related payment rails while supporting operational risk management and audit readiness. Work closely with Operations, Risk, Banking Partners, and Leadership teams. Full-time WFO; flexibility for US shifts required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end compliance oversight for ACH, wire transfers, checks, SWIFT, and other US payment operations.
- Ensure compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, FinCEN, NACHA, KYC/KYB, and related US financial regulations.
- Monitor suspicious transactions, conduct AML reviews, and support SAR/CTR reporting processes where applicable.
- Oversee sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud alerts, and payment risk controls.
- Review ACH return trends, unauthorized return thresholds, disputes, and exception handling.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, SOPs, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
- Coordinate with sponsor banks, auditors, compliance consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Conduct compliance audits, gap assessments, and risk reviews for payment operations.
- Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness for internal and external compliance reviews.
- Train operations teams on AML, fraud prevention, payment compliance, and regulatory best practices.
- Prepare reports, compliance dashboards, incident reports, and management updates.
- Support onboarding reviews, merchant/customer due diligence, and enhanced due diligence activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Law, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in AML/compliance/payments operations with at least 3+ years in US payments or fintech compliance.
- Strong understanding of BSA/AML, OFAC, FinCEN regulations, KYC/KYB, ACH/NACHA rules, and payment compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with ACH, wires, SWIFT, payment investigations, transaction monitoring, and fraud controls.
- Experience working with sponsor banks, fintechs, payment processors, or banking operations preferred.
- Certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or AML (Anti-Money Laundering)strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications like AAP (Accredited ACH Professional), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager), or CFCS (Certified Financial Crime Specialist) will be an added advantage.
- NACHA/AAP certification or prior ACH compliance exposure preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; SQL knowledge preferred.
- Excellent documentation, audit handling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to work in US shifts and full-time WFO environment.
- Excellent English communication and professional reporting capabilities.
