A CNC Bending Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC bending machines (such as press brakes) to shape metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and basic programming knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC bending machines (tooling, dies, and materials)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Program or input bending parameters into the CNC system
- Operate machines to bend, form, or shape metal sheets and components
- Perform test runs and adjust machine settings for accuracy
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Ensure product quality meets specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Follow safety procedures and workplace standards
- Record production data and report issues to supervisors
