Accountant

Job Summary
Makins Supermart is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accountant to manage daily accounting operations, financial records, GST compliance, vendor payments, and reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, proficiency in accounting software, and experience in retail accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records.
- Record daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, and vendor/customer ledgers.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
GST & Tax Compliance
- Prepare and reconcile GST data.
- Assist in filing GST returns and maintaining compliance records.
- Reconcile purchase registers with GSTR-2B and vendor invoices.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities as required.
Payables & Receivables
- Process vendor payments and maintain payment schedules.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up when necessary.
- Verify supplier invoices and credit notes.
Inventory & Retail Accounting
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock.
- Monitor stock adjustments, wastage, and shrinkage.
- Coordinate with store management for stock-related accounting matters.
Payroll & Administration
- Process employee attendance, salaries, and reimbursements.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll and statutory deductions.
- Assist management with budgeting and cost control initiatives.
Requirements
- B.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime, Busy, or similar accounting software.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in retail, supermarket, FMCG, or trading businesses.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
