- Plan and execute daily moulding production targets
- Allocate manpower (moulders, helpers) efficiently
- Ensure moulding line runs smoothly without delays
- Monitor cycle time and productivity
- Ensure correct sand preparation (moisture, strength, permeability)
- Check mould quality before pouring
- Control defects like:
o Sand fusion
o Blow holes
o Mould cracks
- Maintain proper pattern setting and alignment
- Inspect moulds as per drawing/specifications
- Coordinate with quality team for defect analysis
- Implement corrective actions to reduce rejection
- Ensure defect-free moulds for casting
- Supervise moulders and contract workers
- Provide training on best moulding practices
- Maintain discipline and teamwork in shop floor
- Ensure availability of:
- Moulding sand
- Patterns
- Tools & equipment
- Coordinate with maintenance for machine breakdowns
- Enforce PPE usage (gloves, helmet, shoes)
- Maintain safe working conditions
- Follow 5S and housekeeping standards
- Daily production report
- Rejection and rework report
- Sand consumption and usage tracking
- Shift handover details
- Foundry moulding knowledge (green sand / CO2 / no-bake)
- Problem-solving for casting defects
- Leadership and team handling
