The Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons to primary-grade students, ensuring their academic, social, emotional, and overall development. The role involves planning and implementing effective teaching strategies, managing classroom activities, assessing students’ learning and progress, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
The teacher will encourage curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and active participation among students. The role also includes maintaining student records, communicating with parents regarding students’ progress, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in school events, activities, and other academic responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for primary-grade students.
- Teach assigned subjects as per the school curriculum and academic plan.
- Use activity-based, experiential, and child-center teaching methods.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, teaching aids, and other learning resources.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic progress and maintain appropriate records.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Develop students’ communication, creativity, critical thinking, and social skills.
- Regularly communicate with parents regarding students’ progress, behavior, and development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school departments for effective academic planning.
- Participate in school events, assemblies, activities, competitions, and other co-curricular programmes.
- Maintain classroom discipline, hygiene, safety, and overall student well-being.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification.
- CTET/TET qualification
- Strong command of English and effective communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Prior teaching experience will be preferred.
