We are looking for a skilled and experienced Firewall Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise network security infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Fortinet, Check Point, and/or Palo Alto firewalls, along with a strong understanding of network security, VPN technologies, and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Fortinet, Check Point, and Palo Alto firewall solutions.
- Configure and manage firewall policies, NAT, routing, security zones, and VPNs (Site-to-Site & Remote Access).
- Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security events to ensure network availability and security.
- Perform firewall rule reviews, policy optimization, and periodic audits.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, security incidents, and firewall-related issues.
- Implement High Availability (HA) and disaster recovery solutions.
- Conduct firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups.
- Collaborate with network, server, cloud, and security teams to implement secure network architectures.
- Analyze security alerts and respond to incidents in coordination with the Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and change management records.
- Provide technical support during maintenance windows and participate in on-call rotations when required.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
- Check Point Firewalls
- Palo Alto Networks Firewalls
- Excellent understanding of:
- TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs
- VPN (IPSec & SSL VPN)
- NAT, ACLs, Security Policies
- High Availability (HA)
- Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
- Web Filtering and Application Control
- Threat Prevention and URL Filtering
- Experience with firewall migration and policy optimization.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms and log analysis is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of cloud security (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3–8+ years of experience in Network Security or Firewall Administration.
Preferred Certifications
- Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5 / NSE 7 (or equivalent current Fortinet certifications)
- Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
- Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- CCNA / CCNP Security (Preferred)
