Position: Biomedical Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Biomedical Engineer to oversee the installation, maintenance, calibration, and performance of medical equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure that all biomedical devices function safely and efficiently while supporting clinical teams in delivering quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain medical equipment and devices.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate equipment calibration, servicing, and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
- Liaise with vendors for procurement, installation, warranty claims, and technical support.
- Conduct routine equipment performance checks and quality assurance activities.
- Train healthcare staff on the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests.
- Support equipment planning and evaluation for new technology acquisitions.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
- Certification or specialized training in medical equipment maintenance is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment and healthcare technology.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and calibration procedures.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with NABH/JCI standards is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and report management.
